Before Bob Ovies was called home to the Lord on March 27, 2021, he and his wife Kathy shared their lives together in Jesus-centered ministry for more than 40 years.  They've been blessed with six children, one deceased.

Bob served as an ordained Deacon, Evangelist, Retreat Director, Director of Family Life Ministries, Individual and Group Counselor (MSW), High School Teacher, Jail Minister, author, and Co-Director of an inner-city Half-Way House in Detroit's "Corktown District."

Kathy has served as Director of Scripture Studies, Grade-, Middle- and High-School Teacher, Youth Minister, Jail Minister, Minister of Evangelism, and Mission Worker in the Appalachian Mountains, Cook County, Chicago, and Detroit's inner-city.

Together, they've also served as teachers and mission workers on the Navajo Reservation of Arizona, and for nine years as live-in Directors of a Christ-centered Home for the Homeless in the Detroit, Michigan area, where they welcomed and housed homeless families and individuals.

Bob and Kathy created the "Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series" at the request of numerous couples in various Detroit area churches, who asked for their help in learning how they, too, could safely and supportively begin to pray together as a couple in ways that would let them experience a deeper love for God and a deeper love and supportive care for one another.  The Couple Prayer Series is now helping Christian couples pray together more closely, comfortably and consistently in the U.S., Canada, England, Guam, Mexico, Somoa, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland.

Couple Prayer Series

Ken and Signe Castel have been married over 47 years and have three adult children and 7 living grandchildren.

Active in numerous ministries throughout their marriage, they first began praying together in 2007 when, as Signe puts it, "there was a disconnect" in their relationship.

Almost immediately they both noticed a softer, gentler tone in their relationship.  Meaningful, intimate communication became much more common between them as they experienced God breathing new life into their marriage.  From that moment on they were hooked and sought after opportunities to share the great news of the blessings of a Christ Centered marriage that praying together leads to.

Mentored by the series creators, Deacon Bob and Kathy Ovies, Ken and Signe eventually became the second generation of the Couple Prayer Series leadership.

In addition to facilitating the 6 week series live at churches in southeast Michigan, they have also led weekend and day retreats, dinner programs and spoken at conferences and gatherings throughout Michigan and beyond.

Please contact Ken and Signe directly if you would like more information about how to bring a live Couple Prayer event to your parish.
